If you have noticed, URLs to all the pages have now been stripped of the directory “wordpress” in them, including the home page. I thought the URLs look prettier without the word in them.

Anyway, redirections are in place to redirect the old links to their new links. While I expect this redirection to be permanent, please do update your bookmarks, if any, to point to the main page without the “wordpress” directory.

Technical details follow:
I haven’t figured out how to do any redirections for URLs pointing to “wordpress/” to redirect to “/”. (I’m currently hard-coding it into a “index.php” file under “/wordpress”.) Any ideas to edit the following “.htaccess” residing under “/wordpress” would be welcome.

Firstly, I’d like to apologise for letting this blog sink into the abyss of desolation for a while. I simply lost any interest in blogging and I guess this happens quite frequently. But now, I’m back.

Anyway, I have upgraded Wordpress to the latest version and finally, WordPress supports tags.

Today was effectively the last day of school for my JC life. I think I will miss those days of having lessons in the future but for now, I’m not feeling particularly sad or any sense of loss, because I know we will continue to keep in touch with each other

Anyway, I’m bad at writing emotions-related post so I’ll stop here. The previous paragraph sound kind of cheesy though…

The start of my so-called “normal” week. Why “normal” you ask? There’s no more orientation to rush down for filming, there’s no more stupid Saturday-sleep-depriving-bored-to-death network courses at Ngee Ann Polytehnic. Lo! and behold, it’s finally over! Shout yeah!

I’ve beeen surprisingly responsive to this year’s angel and mortal game. I mean I’ve bothered writing to my angel and mortal. Well, due to some miscalculation on my part, my mortal knows who I am because:

1. I used the same paper, torn into two, to write to them…
2. using the same pen and ink while…
3. giving them the same chocolate albeit of different flavour.

Sad case. The only comfort I can probably have is that… both my angel and mortal don’t exactly know how I look like. Hmm…

A rather worrying observation: it looks like the year ones this year are well… more hardworking? Perhaps too hardworking to be seen doing tutorials during their breaks. I don’t remember seeing this scene last year. A good or bad sign? Time will tell.

And I’ve kept mum on a certain new prominent figure in the school whom I’ve not been very impressed with. He is trying, but not successful yet. We shall see.

Since someone complained I’ve talked too much about mobile phones (Nokia in particular), I should probably write about some random stuff today. Let’s see…

The “taboos” of blogging - I’ve long gone past the age of writing about “Today I woke up and saw so and so”.

Speaking of this, I remembered digging up one of my old “diaries”. I used to keep them, at least for a few entries, during primary two (8 years old, barely), I guess I am still keeping one, albeit not so much about my personal life and not written on a book. Here’s a sample entry, formatted in a manner as similar to what was written on paper as much as possible:

morning: sanmy Sunny
afternoon: winging
ev., night: winging (rain)

Today Mother and father bring me to some bookshop to buy some books. There are many kids books. I never go to school because I have am sick. Now I have move to anotoganother drawer. So I can lock the drawer. Today I play very fun. Now I am playing with my brother. Now I am also writing this dairy dairy. Today I have a very Good day. Now I am slepy going to sleppin. So I did. bye-bye.

Gosh, I can hear someone back there laughing their heads off at this. Be mindful that I was eight and English’s not my native tongue!

With the installation of WP Tiger Administration, my wordpress admin looks much refreshing. A new look I would say. Perhaps I should adapt something like this for the tagboard too. We shall see. Perhaps Shiyun would like to help out a bit

Losing power over at Microsoft and Google Earth Beta should wrap up the post nicely.

There’s this weird thing about wordpress that it “needs” to make sure all the links you add are absolute links (i.e. they start with http://)

Well, for me, I would prefer if they do NOT check this and allow me to enter any kinds of links.

So I fired up the API documentation in search of some kind of “hooks” to allow me to do so but there don’t seem to be any.

So I had to resort to editing the source code itself.
