Instant ORD - As Seen on TV

Daily Ramblings, Interesting Stuff March 23rd, 2008 @ 1205h

I hardly watch TV and I must have missed the “Instant ORD for MAS SELAMAT CAPTURE” report on TV.

It’s really lucky that we are currently still trainees or we stand a chance to be activated to catch this guy who literally threw our face away. Hearing tales of people being activated and not being able to book out for one month isn’t exactly pleasant. Let’s hope he is captured or found dead or whatever when we graduate.

Resumption of being a trainee tomorrow. I’m somewhat worried because, frankly, many considered BMT to be a chalet and I wonder how SISPEC will turn out. Let’s hope that being in Ninja had helped a little. :S Maybe I can post a little next saturday. For now I am keeping my fingers crossed on the many applications I’ve made.

Male or Female Brain?

Interesting Stuff January 9th, 2008 @ 0739h

Should you be MALE or FEMALE?*
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Either

You brain is neither specifically male, nor female in the way you perceive your surroundings. As bad as this may sound to some, it can easily mean that you are capable of combining both gender aspects to your advantage. Rather than being genderless you are possibly able think freely. This does not mean that you are bisexual or androgynous or indecisive, but it might.

foobar2000

Interesting Stuff December 19th, 2007 @ 1437h

I have dumped Winamp a long time ago for foobar2000 as my main music player. If you are on Windows, I highly recommend you give this software a try. iTunes cannot even hold a candle to it.

Why?

foobar2000 is very extensible and customisable. It uses very little system resources. It can even play a multitude of audio formats that players like Windows Media Player and iTunes cannot support natively (FLAC, for example). It’s very like Winamp though I think winamp is overloaded with a little too much crap these days.

I hear legions of people complaining that it is difficult to move over and that their playlists cannot load etc., especially the iTunes fans who seem to love the player on Windows. It’s very simple to do so and I can help out if you need help.

Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon and Compiz Fusion

Interesting Stuff December 16th, 2007 @ 0147h

I have been playing around with Ubuntu today and gosh, I’m falling in love with it already. It’s currently my “experimental” OS and it will probably not replace Windows Vista soon though I am missing some of the very awesome eye candies in Ubuntu.

For those who think Vista have great eye candies, check out Ubuntu with Compiz Fusion installed first ;)

(I tried to make a video on my own but I failed :( )

Naturals vs Artificial

Interesting Stuff December 14th, 2007 @ 2305h

Like he says:

dear women, there’s no point in getting your boobs enhanced with sillycone (typo intended), because men of science like us like them natural.

And of this comment:

They must float! When I was about 12, I got into a situation while swimming in a lake where I knew I was not going to make it back to shore. I was just minutes from drowning, when a rather heavy-set woman bobbed past me, grabbed my arms and took me to the point that I could touch bottom. I, of course, thanked her profusely for saving my ass! She said, “Oh, don’t worry about it at all!” She then looked down at her rather large bosom and stated, “With these floatation devices, there’s no way I could sink If I wanted to!”

So, I say, with a resounding “YES!!!”…boobs DO float!

… priceless!

Note: I am not in any particular “horny” mood or anything.

Ideal Job

Interesting Stuff December 10th, 2007 @ 0313h

I was digging through my ancient hard disk from a long time ago and I came across this interesting excel file that “predicts” your ideal job.
Mine turns out to be a “Street Sweeper” when I enter my full name.

Gosh.

Of Air-cons and Global Warming

Daily Ramblings, Interesting Stuff November 22nd, 2007 @ 0048h

A interesting blog post on the problem of Singaporeans consuming too much Air-conditioning and the problems of global warming.

I don’t really mind if there is or isn’t air conditioning though, of course, the feeling of your body sweating isn’t that great. I don’t sleep in air-conditioned room nor do I study in air-conditioned rooms. I think the air-cons in school are unnecessary luxuries though I enjoy them while they are there.

I think +imo will keel me because he can’t live without air-cons. ;)

The Tale of A-Levels Chapter 3: Weird Sense of Humour

Interesting Stuff November 5th, 2007 @ 2330h

It seems like Math teachers like to inject some form of weird humour into the math papers. I guess it’s the only subject that you can set questions that involves some subtle sense of humour.

Take our school papers for example: Mr “Farngow” (Cantonese for sleep) researching on the sleep times of children; “Kong Si Car Sharing” (Kong Si = Chinese? for sharing); “Ai Ying” (Loves to win), “Ai Du” (Loves to gamble), “Ai Wan” (Loves to play) for the names of “characters” in a probability question.

I did quite some papers to find such humour in other papers as well. A drink called “whatsoever”, “Jet-around travel agency” and so on.

I’m really afraid of Probability and permutations questions. =(
